Anche se non contiene l'ottimo score di The Aviator composto da Howard Shore e pubblicato su un Cd a parte, questo album è decisamente un gioiello molto interessante e per certi versi sorprendente. Le canzoni dell'epoca che si ascoltano durante il film sono state restaurate e ripulite per l'occasione e rappresentano l'anima di un'era segnata dal genio talentuoso di Howard Hughes. Tra Jazz e ritmi solo in apparenza ingenui, The Aviator ha una colonna notevole dominata da sonorità affascinanti e divertenti. Quasi un greatest hits dei brani più famosi di quegli anni. Una chicca: l'ultima traccia è una canzone del 1940 intitolata proprio Howard Hughes.
