Il Premio Locus, assegnato dai lettori della famosissima rivista di settore, è uno dei premi più importanti per la narrativa fantastica ed è spesso un'indicazione di chi vincerà il Premio Hugo. Possiamo definirlo, in un certo senso, il Golden Globe della fantascienza. Quest'anno, seguendo una tendenza già in corso da diversi anni, la maggior parte dei premi è andata a scrittrici; due in particolare, Martha Wells, che ha vinto nelle categorie del romanzo di fantascienza e fantasy, e Ursula Vernon, che sotto lo pseudonimo T. Kingfisher ha vinto nel romanzo horror e nel romanzo breve. La Locus Science Fiction Foundation ha annunciato i vincitori di ogni categoria dei Locus Awards 2024 il 22 giugno 2024, durante il Locus Awards Weekend.
