I resoconti dalla Worldcon di Chengdu sono entusiastici: una sede spettacolare, allestita in modo altrettanto spettacolare, partecipazione del pubblico mai vista, con appassionati provenienti da ogni parte del mondo. Ospiti d'onore un grande autore canadese, Robert J. Sawyer, e il più famoso autore cinese, Liu Cixin. Vedremo se sarà possibile parlarne più diffusamente nei prossimi giorni.

Intanto arrivano i resoconti dei premi. Il primo di cui abbiamo saputo è stato il Premio Galaxy assegnato al nostro Francesco Verso, per la promozione della fantascienza cinese nel nostro paese, con le sue edizioni Future Fiction.

Ieri, sabato 21 ottobre, si è svolta la cerimonia di consegna dei Premi Hugo, in una sala enorme affollata di gente.

Il Premio Hugo è uno dei momenti più importanti della Worldcon. Anche quest'anno nelle categorie letterarie si è confermata la dominazione femminile, con autrici vincitrici in tre categorie su quattro: la quarta, il racconto lungo, è andata allo scrittore cinese Hai Ya, con un racconto pubblicato sull'edizione cinese di Galaxy's Edge. Un vincitore cinese anche nella categoria artista (Enzhe Zhao). Infine è stata assegnata la Worldcon per il 2025 a Seattle, mentre per il 2024 l'appuntamento è a Glasgow.
