Per la serie "la fantascienza è un genere da uomini", se non fosse stato per William Ledbetter, vincitore nella categoria racconto lungo, tutti e quattro i Nebula per la letteratura di quest'anno sarebbero andati a donne. Il premio per il miglior romanzo va alla giornalista di Io9 Charlie Jane Anders, già vincitrice di un Hugo nel 2012 col racconto Sei mesi, tre giorni pubblicato in Italia su Robot n. 67.

Seanan McGuire si conferma, dopo tante nomination a vari premi (anche sotto lo pseudonimo di Mira Grant), vincendo per la migliore novella, mentre un'altra autrice portata in Italia da Robot, Amal El-Mohtar,  vince per il miglior racconto.

La cerimonia ha avuto luogo il 20 maggio al Pittsburgh Marriott City Center in Pennsylvania.
