Annunciati i finalisti dell'edizione 2011 dello Sturgeon Award, premio istituito nel 1987 per ricordare Theodore Sturgeon, uno dei migliori autori di racconti di fantascienza di sempre e soprattutto pilastro della Golden Age.

Nessuno dei finalisti di quest'anno ha già vinto il premio in precedenza. In realtà non è mai accaduto che un vincitore sia arrivato a vincere una seconda volta. Da segnalare che Robert Reed è alla sesta finale, mentre Arnason, Broderick, Park e Watts sono alla seconda.

Il vincitore sarà proclamato nel corso della Campbell Conference Awards Banquet che si svolgerà tra il 7 e il 10 luglio alla University of Kansas a Lawrence.
